Review from Waterford gig on Emer & Drua
2011.07.27 17:17:31

Hi Everyone,

We had a great time at our gig in Waterford recently and what a surprise I got when someone drew my attention to a review on us by Liam Murphy in the Munster Express.
I didn't know Liam or anyone else was there to review us on the day and I was delighted to get those uplifting and encouraging words from Liam, thanks.   -  Hurahhh!

Review - below:

Emer Dunne and Drua served up a summer cocktail of happiness, crowd-pleasing songs and wonderful instrumental playing, with a dance or two bounced in for the fun of it.  There was beauty in Emer’s clear version of She Moved Through the Fair (Padraig Colum’s poetic version of a traditional tune).   The band slipped easily into fine instrumental playing with Simon Graydon on guitar and Robert Harvey on flute. The Hayley Westenra song ‘Summer Fly’ delighted, and Seal’s ‘Kiss From A Rose’ sealed the wonderment.  James Harvey was wonderful on banjo solo.  It was happy clappy time as the audience were wowed by Emer Dunne dancing.
From there out the concert took on a groove and an excitement that left a gloriously happy audience eager for more.  Emer Dunne and Drua must be brought back as they bring excitement and musicality.”
