Hi all
Well we have had an interesting and exciting few months. There have been many highlights.  I performed with Drua in Clarendon Street Dublin for the Japanese Ambassador and visiting Japanese delegates on their recent trip to Ireland. We met many lovely people there and would like to thank all for their kind words and for presenting me with a beautiful hand crafted necklace.  Hopefully we will meet again in the not too distant future.
I was delighted to work with so many talented children in July at the Reema Stars week of performing Arts, thanks to all who joined us for the week and to my co-director Clare McAvinue for all her talents and help in coordinating a great week. Well done to all the children on the fantastic show that you put on for your friends and family on the last day.
I've had a busy summer so far performing in various parts of Leinster and I look forward to more gigs in the upcoming months.   I am also busy planning more recordings, it will be a while before I am ready to go into studio but it is an exciting time ahead. Thanks to Will Faulkner show on Midlands Radio 3 103.5FM for inviting me on to perform a song and for a chat.
In my own time I'm working on the choreography for a musical in November and getting back to training in Irish dance myself after been out for a few months with knee injury. However all is well now and the hard work starts in building back the fitness but I'm on route again.
Once again, thanks for your emails, messages and for your support.
Take Care
Emer x

Back to Reality
2012.04.16 15:18:04
Hi Everyone,
Well I took a little break away and did a little travelling to the Middle East - what a fastcinating experience and a great adventure. I feel inspired for some new song-writing material again now : )
Although the break away was great, I did miss the music.   And I am delighted to be back to work today sorting out emails and bookings etc. I have a busy time ahead for the next few months including various performances.  I'm delighted to perform as part of the launch of Co.Offaly's 'Bealtaine' Festival next week, this should be fun.  I've also been asked to judge and then perform as special guest for 'Headstrong Talent contest'. I'm like the new Simon C !! This organisation is raising money for mental health issues which has been sadly affecting many people in our society.  I am delighted to be able to help out and promote the good work many do in our society to prevent and help raise awareness for this difficult illness.
So it's back to work here but more news to follow soon.
All the best. Emer x

Templebar Tradfest 2012
2012.02.20 12:20:16
Hello Folks,

We are still reeling after a very successful gig at Templebar Tradfest, 2012. We were delighted to get the opportunity to perform on the main stage of the TempleBar tradfest. Although the weather was somewhat unfortunate it didn't stop the crowds from joining us on the street and dancing in the puddles! I would like to thank the very talented bunch of musicians who joined me, James Hogan, Lorraine Devrey, Eamonn Moran and Eddie Kavanagh.
We are also delighted with the growing numbers who are joining us on our new facebook music page. I really appreciate your comments and support.
It has been a busy few weeks since. We have all had to take a little time out from live gigs to work on other projects. I have just finished working on the choreography for a Pantomime Humpty Dumpty. The show ran for five nights, finishing up last night and was a great success. Congrats to all involved and thanks to the wonderful children who worked very hard on their various dances.
Now this morning it's back to work and lining up new songs and shows.
Look forward to seeing you all on the road again soon.
Take Care.

Happy New Year
2012.01.02 10:07:28
Hi Everyone,
A very Happy New Year. I hope I find you all well and wishing you all the best for 2012.
2011 was a great musical year with many highlights including gigs across the country and a lovely review from a surprise music critic at a gig in Christchurch Cathedral in Waterford. One of my own songs was featured on TV3 Television which was exciting. The summer brought a video shoot with Irish band Drua - we recorded our showreel live which was launched on the site here in October. Thanks for the kind words and responses we received.  I was fortunate enough to have radio play on various stations and was approached by radio station in Denver Colorado who offered to play my music.  Thanks very much to the presenters and station there. I have written some new songs and I look forward to sharing some of this new material soon.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has come out to our gigs and shows for supporting us in our musical endeavours.
Who knows what 2012 will hold but I do know that I have enjoyed the various opportunities that I've had to sing to date. I have many dreams that I would like to fulfill in my life and thanks to everyone who has allowed me to make this one a reality.
I wish each and every one of you a very healthy and happy 2012 and I hope to meet you along the way.
All the best.
Emer xx

Emer & Drua in Cobblestone Back Room Venue, Dublin on Saturday Nov 26th
2011.11.20 15:54:45
Hi Everyone,
Delighted to announce next gig for Emer Dunne & Drua in the Cobblestone Back Room Venue, Dublin this Sat Nov 26th. Special guest act is the talented singer and songwriter Helen Smits.  Doors at 9pm and tickets on door are €10.

We are delighted to be back gigging.  We were forced to take a few weeks out due to my knee surgery. However, I'm making good progress, I've now abandoned the crutches and although dancing is forbidden for a few more weeks, I am looking forward to getting back on the stage and singing.

We are really looking forward to this Dublin performance and we hope that we will see you then.
Cheers.
Emer
